The Censys Platform is the shared foundation underlying all Censys products — Censys Search, Censys Core, Attack Surface Management, Adversary Investigation, and Critical Infrastructure Monitoring. It is built on a continuously updated Internet Map covering internet-facing hosts, services, web properties, and certificates across the full IPv4 space and sampled IPv6. The platform collects and structures raw scan data into a queryable dataset that exposes attributes of each internet-accessible asset in near real time.

CenQL, the Censys structured query language, is used to write precise queries against the full Internet Map dataset. It supports field filtering, Boolean logic, regex, and range expressions, enabling analysts to isolate specific technology versions, certificate attributes, or service banners across the internet. The platform exposes a REST API, Python and Go SDKs, a CLI, and an MCP server for programmatic access, allowing engineering and security teams to integrate Censys data into existing tools and automated workflows.

Internet Map

The Censys Internet Map is continuously updated by global scan infrastructure, covering services, banners, TLS data, certificates, and host attributes across the internet. It forms the authoritative data source for all Censys products. IPv4 coverage is comprehensive; IPv6 scanning is ongoing. The dataset refreshes continuously rather than on a periodic schedule, providing near-real-time visibility into internet state.

CenQL Query Language

CenQL is the Censys structured query language for writing precise queries against the Internet Map. It supports field filtering, Boolean operators, regex, and range expressions — enabling analysts to isolate specific software versions, service banners, certificate attributes, or TLS fingerprints across the full dataset without returning unrelated results or requiring post-processing.

API and SDK Access

A REST API, Python SDK, Go SDK, and CLI provide programmatic access to the Censys Internet Map. Engineering teams use these interfaces to embed internet visibility data into existing security tools, automate asset monitoring pipelines, and build custom dashboards. All Censys products share the same API surface, so workflows built on the platform apply across subscription tiers.

MCP Server

A dedicated MCP server connects the Censys Platform to AI-assisted tooling and LLM-powered workflows. Security analysts and engineers can query the Internet Map from within AI coding environments and security tools without switching context. The MCP interface supports all core query types available through the REST API and SDK.
